Lead One of New York's Premier General Aviation Airports!

Avports is seeking an experienced and dynamic Airport Manager to serve as the senior on-site leader for Republic Airport (FRG), a business-oriented general aviation airport owned by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) and located along Long Island's Route 110 business corridor.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a strategically important airport that supports over 1,600 airport-related jobs and serves as a key aviation gateway for corporate, charter, and general aviation operations in the New York metropolitan region. The Airport Manager will oversee all aspects of airport operations, facilities, safety, security, financial performance, tenant relations, and business development while serving as the primary liaison with NYSDOT, airport tenants, government agencies, and community stakeholders.

What You'll Do

As Airport Manager, you will:

•    Lead the overall operation, maintenance, safety, security, and business performance of Republic Airport.

•    Ensure compliance with NYSDOT requirements, FAA regulations, airport standards, and Avports policies.

•    Direct airport management, supervisory, union, and non-union personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, service, and operational excellence.

•    Manage employee and labor relations activities, including contract administration, grievance resolution, and workforce development.

•    Administer airport leases, tenant agreements, permits, and operational requirements.

•    Develop and manage operating budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and revenue.

•    Oversee facility, infrastructure, airfield, vehicle, and equipment maintenance programs.

•    Lead airport safety, security, emergency preparedness, and business continuity efforts.

•    Support tenant growth, customer engagement, airport utilization, and business development initiatives.

•    Serve as the primary point of contact with NYSDOT, the Republic Airport Commission, airport tenants, government agencies, and community stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in Airport Management, Aviation, Aerospace, Business Administration, Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.

•    Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible airport management, airport operations, airline station management, or public-sector facilities management experience.

•    Demonstrated experience leading airport operations, regulatory compliance, budgeting, facilities management, tenant relations, and business development activities.

•    Experience working with unionized workforces, labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and grievance administration.

•    Knowledge of FAA regulations, airport operations, safety and security programs, and general aviation environments.

•    Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.

•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and airport operational management systems.

•    Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain all required airport access credentials.

Additional Requirements

•    Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

•    Position is full-time, exempt, and based on-site at Republic Airport in East Farmingdale, NY.

•    Must be available to support airport operations outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency events as needed.

•    Occasional travel may be required.
